June 27-28th, 2008 – Infineon Raceway, CA - NASA American Iron Extreme Round 4
After a long hiatus former teammates Guy Cunningham and Bruce Griggs are planning a return to American Iron Extreme competition at Infineon Raceway June 28-29. Both are entered in the AIX category. Guy will be driving Darrell Anderson’s new GR40 AV8SS/AIX car, and Bruce will be driving his venerable “Old Blue.” Neither Bruce nor his mount have seen competition in over 2 years. Griggs turns 60 in July, and is wondering if he still has what it takes. “Things happen really fast in these cars at this level of power and development. I hope I haven’t forgotten too much about how to handle that.” Old Blue will be run in exactly the same condition it last saw competition. The Anderson mount is the latest turn-key race car out of the Griggs stable. It will be interesting to see the difference in performance levels of our older steel bodied Fox car that the media has pegged as the most victorious single Mustang in road racing history and the newer lighter carbon bodied winged 04 GR40 Mustang Guy will pilot.

The Nor Cal SAAC Summer Heat 2008 Open Track at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California is a 2-day driving event for ALL makes and models of cars except open-wheel cars. Nor Cal SAAC members and non-members are welcome.
